I began my career as a publicity assistant at Little, Brown publishers in New York. I wrote press releases, booked authors on TV and radio shows, and worked with reviewers to publicize new titles. Later I joined Vanity Fair magazine as Graydon Carter's assistant; LIFE magazine as a reporter-researcher; and This Old House and Martha Stewart Living as an editor. I have written about home design and renovation, food, and travel for a variety of publications. I live in Connecticut with my husband and two children and in my spare time, I knit (see romyknits.com), read, walk in the woods, and (watch my husband) cook.
